Course History

Whispering Pines Golf Club is an 18 hole executive course in Schenectady, New York, designed by Phil Mitchell and Burham Armstrong. Opened in 1965, the course is now owned and operated by Armstrong's three sons, Mark, Kirk and Brett.

Whispering Pines is known for its narrow tree lined fairways which call for demanding iron shots off the tee.  The regulation sized undulating greens will challange golfers of all levels.  There are  three sand bunkers on the course and water comes into play on three holes.  Course yardage is 2,315 yards from the longest tees and plays to a par of 55.

Our Driving Range is one of the best in the area with 40 all grass tees, chipping green, practice sand bunker and practice putting green.

Riding carts are available although the course is easy to walk. It takes about two and one half hours to play 18 holes.  Whispering Pines is family oriented and kid friendly and offers season memberships for individuals, families and juniors.

The Club House serves lunches, snacks and beverages including beer and wine.   Our dining room  seats sixty people and  is avaiable for private parties and outings, with more room on the outdoor patio for cookouts.
